IPL is pro-Maharashtra !

14 Mar

The great form of entertainment is back and it is pro-Maharashtra. This is how –

1. ) Lalit Modi, Gujju, born in Delhi, studied in Shimla,  Nainital and USA, now living in Mumbai – had committed a crime in 1985, of possessing 500 gms of cocaine, kidnapping and assault. Then, he had pledged 100 hours of community work . Thats when the seeds of IPL were sown. Today, he possesses some 500…….. (lakh/millions/billions rupees), has kidnapped the game of cricket and is assaulting cricketers (via auctions). Yet, it translates into great community work –  One Maha-rashtra through one Maha-game. :).

2.) All of twitter world including most from Mumbai like @iamsrk @theshilpashetty @realpreityzinta will tweet and trend IPL. One Mumbai. One topic of interest. One nation. One twitter. One world.

3.) I support Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils and Kings Xi (sitting in Noida), my hubby supports Chennai sooper Kings (eeks – really!), my neighbours from Chennai support Delhi Dare Devils, and my Bhabhi’s pup supports the cheer leaders. He wags his tail and attempts some form of dance, every time he sees them! DOGS !!! All of us, sometimes, watch on the same TV set.

4.) We Indians are a lot of very aggressive people, especially when on roads, in the house (excpet infront of our bosses) With aggressive cricket around us, all of us just sit infront of TV sets and let cricketers like Appam C…. get agressive. Effectively, less traffic on the roads and PEACE!

5.) So, now for the next few days we will not hear about the Marathi Manoos. Instead from various parts of the country we will find supporters for Mumbai Indians, with players from Maha – Rashtra ie the world. Dear Mr. Thackeray beat this!

6.)Besides, Media would be too busy juggling three important news items, and will totally forget about Mr. T and other state related news cos of . 1. IPL III 2. Dance India Dance 3. Anandi’s death and second life (TVitually)

The amalgam of all that India is about – Cricket, Bollywood, Twitter, Unity in Diversity and Aggression is therefore, pro Maha-rashtra and INDIA. 🙂

The effect of a slowdown!

21 Sep

Some economic terms are very complicated like ‘slowdown’. Even though I hear the term 15 times a day and write it over 20 times( blame my job), when someone asks me how its affecting me, I am speechless.

That pushes me into writing the post. I analyse. Think….here’s the turn of events last week in common – banal words followed by how its going to infect us.. uh oh.. affect us.

Lehman gave up on themselves, declared themselves Bankrupt (Please explain! how does a bank go bankrupt). Simply put, their assets lost value cos of the SUB PRIME crisis. The balance sheet was disbalanced. Well that went a long way in shaking the world. What happened next?

– The world markets shook. Values eroded… the rich became poor .. the poor remained poor… That fostered greater EQUALITY. 🙂

– Oil Prices fell. fell. fell… and the Government still hasnt taken a cue to reduce prices. Thus there is greater money in the Govt’s kitty. Hence more development (assuming that Government is an NGO type. No Profits motto define their key activities). Thus, we are in for better CIVIL service.

– Suddenly, there are no jobs in the market. Stay put in your jobs is the new mantra. That fosters love for the Hari Sadu aka Boss… Greater love enhances greater work productivity at the work place.

– More banks are unstable. People are pulling out money from their banks (like ICICI). Hence, more cash in hands. More cash flow in the economy. This wll generate more consumer demand.

I, Aakriti, had guaged the situation immidiately and pulled out all the money from the Bank and have been shopping for the fear of theft, bombing in my area .. blah blah… and am sure can’t put my money in safer spaces/ commodities/ equities.

You just got the idea! Thanks. I am smart.

15th August and Independence!!!

15 Aug

It is ironical. I am celebrating independence day in the confines of my home. The police walas, the Government, the ruling regime are all in fear of terrorist activities. On the other hand, the opposition held a National Bandh in view of “Something”… Really I don’t care. All I care about is that we planned to leave home half an hour in advance to reach office to avoid burnt buses and stone pelting.

“INDEPENDENCE” day of the country really does not mean much to me. You may call it Blasphemy. That is a profane statement, and I can imagine Gandhiji turning in his grave. I have no option. I am glad to blame all existing maladies of the state on the Government.

Oh wait do I have an option? Oh yeah its called voting… And on Independence day I think the one thing that will define how independent I am is by choosing who rules the Country.

Civil Disobedience Movement

22 Jul

Fellow and Country Men! Gandhiji started a movement Civil Disobedience against the then Ruling Government. We as followers of Gandhiji have continued to follow his path. Every day in every way. Now you may seek preponderance of evidence. (just learnt the phrase 😉 )

Arre if you are a civil disobeyer and really dont even know about that…. then you are a bigger contributor…

Now I think is the time to unveil the 4 key activities that make you a part of CDM.

Key activity 1: You contribute towards the filth amassing on the roads. Littering is the key activity here. You may argue that it is not civil disobedience cos Govt has’nt really asked us not to litter. But ofcourse I argue that they have employed a million sweepers to clean the roads, which effectively means that they want clean roads. We as CDM followers are aginst everything that they want.

Besides, It is absolutely common sense to throw that wrapper on the road, we pay taxes… an abominable amt of it. Moreover, but for our CDM, a million people will lose their jobs. Right?

Key Activity 2: Well this activity is male gender specific… I am sure you must have guessed by now what activity I am referring to. There is no argument here. The feline instincts of men signal to the Govt that the land is theirs. (don’t you know how tigers mark their territory)

Key Activity 3: Bribe. Overrule the Govt System. We must make sure that the men – that are part of the system are unable to achieve their objectives by getting the smarter men of that lot on our side.

Key Activity 4: Dare to not pay Tax. This is easier said than done. I salute all the brave men that escape ‘Lagaan’. Y-o-Y. Infallibly.

I am sure there are a lot of other CDM activities that I have not included here. Therefore you are welcome to contribute 🙂

Practising corruption or high ambition!

30 Jun

I am inspired by this report on CNN – That India is a country entrenched with corruption. I disagree!

We are a country of unsatisfied and ambitious people … that what takes us ahead in life.

Example: Traffic Light is red. The Car AC is on. Traffic policeman approaches us. Knocks on the glass window. Window shield down. Mouthful of paan, in a heavy voice says “Madam ne seat belt nahi pehni hai, challan katenge”

“Arre sir… jaane do” “ab pehen lengi” “Allahabad se aayi hai””yahan ke kanoon nahi jaanti”

Spits on the road, and says in a much clearer voice “Toh ab jaan jayengi jab chalan katega toh, jaan jayengi aur yaad bhi rakhengi”

“Sir maaf kar do”

“Thik hai jaiye”

Me astounded. Wondering. As window shields goes up.

“Arre bhai, rukiye, kuch token to dete jaiye” (token???)

Eyes go up in expression of non-comprehension

“500 – de de” ” Ya kaar bagal mein laga le”

I look at my companion. He looks at me. Pays. Zoom past the traffic as the light turns green. Grateful for his generosity and out of court settlement for a 200 ka challan settled in 500.

Boss! you cant call this corruption. It is only ambition without the right direction.

More of such situations occur in everyday lives of Businessmen… salaried professionals are definitely oblivious to the fortunes of handling Govt Authorities in land, electricity and similar kind of ambitious dealings.

More is always less in India… 🙂

If you have read this… and remember your experience.. enlighten me.. through a comment…and I’ll add it in to situations here.. Thanking you in anticipation
