Traveling in a 4th dimension…

16 Jul

By now, most of you would have guessed my obsession with street affairs. But believe me If I risk my life over 15 times on something as meaningless as commuting, I might as well join the Indian Army and win a veer chakra. So my mind keeps wandering to find larger solutions for these smaller problems.

So the other day I wandered over the internet to find more on traveling like genies – via portkeys etc. (For the uninitiated, I am a big fan of Harry Potter – and portkey is an interesting solution via which they have solved commuting problems). So I hit upon something called Worm Holes! Gosh! thats a huge concept in science coming your way from a Commerce student…(Science students, please refrain from reading further… )

Wormholes, as the name does not suggest, are invisible currents that travel faster than light. It seems that me and you, will be able to cross light ages in seconds if we hit this invisible current.

Since it is invisible, you may hit it anytime, so I may as well tell you what to expect if you hit one tomorrow.(No, I am not boasting any of my recently gained insights into the subject) Suddenly you will feel stretched. Not like you stretch at work everyday. More like parts of your body in different time zones. And before you try and collect your body together, you’d be at your destination. Wow! What a wonderful way to travel! An appeal to all the scientists out there… please do something 🙂

Points to ponder:

1. If there are more of you lucky guys in the same Wormhole, it may turn into a really interesting journey…. Think about it.

2. Daily life problems that this will solve besides commuting…think in the dimension of time travel… as the womholes allow traveling faster than time.

3. Give me more Business ideas that one can start around it… I would glad to get that EARLY MOVER ADVANTAGE … for now we will assume that commuting is free.

Well! my thinking nerves have died at this hour(1:30 am), and actually grappling with the issue of ‘grandfather paradox

Why dont you try Hitchhiking like Arthur Dent as in “Hitchhiker’s guide to galaxy”? …Wormholes are very “warm” as my experience was when I went to meet Slartibartfast …
And since I am not a commerce grad but an engineering grad…I have always loved Gradfather paradox and also the concept of time traveling…

Imagine if we become a Jumper…what great life we will have…we will save ourselves from Delhi daredevils completely…

i have been a great fan of a TV series called ‘Twilight Zone’. It was shot in Black and white and had stories that explored concepts like these in the early 70’s era. Time travel always had its not so good consequences in these stories. It’s a fun series to watch…. you can watch them on youtube some of the episodes.

The post sounds great, a solution to all problems when we can start traveling inter-galaxy and can alter the course of events in history!!!

Guess many authors fancy this concept. Had been reading Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series inspired from JRR’s LOTR. (Guess all works of fantasy in recent times are inspired from JRR though he found some inspiration from Mahabharat and other literary works of the ancient world) He had created this portal stones and gateways that could transport you to anyplace and time!!! Interesting concepts on paper though!!!!

ur style of writing is really good.. not many people can bring out humour in routine stuff.
BTW, talking of portkey, i wish i had one.. i’d be happy if it was only for travelling from Noida to Gurgaon..man, the traffic kills me everyday..

@MAlesh… I need to get my hands on Twilight ZOne then.. thanks
@Kartik Thanks .. yeah infact floo powder and Portkey, i think are achievable soultions for scientists 🙂

Now u av written something tat really intrests me… actually i hav mad a roject on time travel and whether it is possible or not..even i came across grandfather paradox.. but for ur information u will not find wormholes from noida to gurgaon or ur place.. they r present in free space and transports u from one galaxy to another thousands of light years away..even they might help in time travel(i dont actually remember how they used to help…) lyk from today to stone age… i have seen refrences of wormholes in fantastic four and silver surfer….silver surfer used to travel via wormholes.. actually this is the idea of how wormholes work..you can check out this link… a photo….

This is interesting. To tell you the truth. We (try to) visualize multi dimension space everyday in programming. Mainly for finding patterns in data. For e.g find similar users in a website can be done by plotting users in an N-dimension space and calculating distances between them. As you suggested above, those users are in hypothetical multi dimension. The problem with me is that I cannot explain to my team how a 4+ dim space look like.
