15th August and Independence!!!

15 Aug

It is ironical. I am celebrating independence day in the confines of my home. The police walas, the Government, the ruling regime are all in fear of terrorist activities. On the other hand, the opposition held a National Bandh in view of “Something”… Really I don’t care. All I care about is that we planned to leave home half an hour in advance to reach office to avoid burnt buses and stone pelting.

“INDEPENDENCE” day of the country really does not mean much to me. You may call it Blasphemy. That is a profane statement, and I can imagine Gandhiji turning in his grave. I have no option. I am glad to blame all existing maladies of the state on the Government.

Oh wait do I have an option? Oh yeah its called voting… And on Independence day I think the one thing that will define how independent I am is by choosing who rules the Country.

Independence to me is…

14 Aug
Freedom

The effect of a Bomb Scare!

4 Aug

Yesterday I was planning a trip to Chandni Chowk… well its just another matter that I did not go… Well wait.. its not just another matter anymore… All of us are constantly living a FEAR LESS life. We get out of our house and are sure we will return safe back home in the evening. Atleast I always leave my house with the keys in my bag and a hope to return home. This was until yesterday.

Well the new face of terrorism ‘The Indian Mujahideen’ … made me stay at home yesterday. Apparently there was a bomb scare in Delhi… and Chandni Chowk is a vulnerable area… but that is not the reason of this post, as I am writing this a day and a half later. I thought and thought. I am worried about these guys who are spreading the terror… Its ironical that they don’t understand the repercussions of the so called Scares that they are spreading around. Allow me to explain.

1. If one of the shopping freaks can stay at home cos of a bomb scare. I bet there were a hundred others… The cause and effect is that there are lesser people in the market to SCARE!

2. Well, I did not go to Chandni Chowk but I went to The Great India Place in Noida. Thousand of people were there at a single given point of time. Even if a 10% were the kind of people like me who traded good old India way of shopping with Malling, they probably ended up spending more. Let me explain the macro economic point of view. I pay Rs. 50/- for a cup of coffee worth Rs.10/- which ensures higher margins for the shop keepers. Thus allowing him to plough back more money into his business. Therefore expansion happens. More growth. You see the Sensex as a proof :) . But for RBI, the sensex has been positive all week.(E&OE)

3. Suppose, 1000 people succumbed to the scare. 10% went to TGIP. 90% stayed back home. Whoa ..! this means less spending on Oil and makes a for more healthy economy with less dependence on OIL. You see the point.

Thus their gameplan backfires on them. Directly and Indirectly. If they are caught ever, they will PAY for doing this good to the country.

And, to finally prove the point that I remain Fear Less, I went on a shopping spree at Lajpat Nagar the very next day.
